1. Nature of the Service
BYOWNER is not an estate agency. We do not act as agents, brokers, negotiators, or representatives in any property transaction.
BYOWNER provides an online advertising platform where property owners and landlords can list and manage property advertisements directly.
All communications, negotiations, viewings, agreements, and transactions take place directly between users. BYOWNER does not participate in or facilitate property transactions beyond providing the advertising platform.
2. Owner-Direct Platform Policy
BYOWNER is designed specifically to enable direct connections between property owners and buyers or tenants.
The platform is not intended for use by estate agents, brokers, or other intermediaries acting in a professional real estate capacity.
To preserve the integrity of the platform:
- Estate agents or real estate businesses may not use the platform to advertise properties.
- Estate agents may not contact property owners through the platform for the purpose of offering agency services.
- Access to the platform may be restricted or blocked for users suspected of acting as agents or intermediaries.
We reserve the right to restrict, suspend, or block access, including by IP address or other technical means, where we believe the platform is being used contrary to its intended owner-direct purpose.

3. User Accounts
Users are responsible for:
- Providing accurate and lawful information
- Maintaining the confidentiality of their login credentials
- All activity carried out under their account
BYOWNER reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms & Conditions or misuse the platform.
4. Property Listings
All property listings are submitted and managed by users.
Users are responsible for ensuring that all information provided in listings is accurate, lawful, and not misleading.
BYOWNER may:
- Manually review listings before publication
- Edit, remove, or reject listings at its discretion
BYOWNER does not verify:
- ownership of the property
- legal status of the property
- accuracy of listing information
We are not responsible for errors, omissions, or misrepresentations in listings.
5. Fees
Listing properties on BYOWNER is currently free of charge.
BYOWNER does not charge commissions on property sales or rentals and does not participate in financial transactions between users.
We reserve the right to introduce paid features or services in the future.
6. Acceptable Use
Users must not:
- Use the platform for unlawful purposes
- Upload misleading or fraudulent listings
- Attempt to scrape, copy, or extract website data
- Use the platform to promote agency services or third-party brokerage services
- Attempt to bypass access restrictions implemented by the platform
Violation of these rules may result in account suspension, listing removal, or access restriction.
7. Limitation of Liability
BYOWNER shall not be liable for:
- Financial loss
- Failed property transactions
- Disputes between users
- Misrepresentation by users
- Loss or damages arising from reliance on listing information
Use of the platform is entirely at the user’s own risk.
8. Changes to the Platform
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the platform at any time without prior notice.
9. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms & Conditions at any time. Updated terms will be published on this page and will take effect immediately.
10. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Malta.
